With a recommendation from the Music Committee, the Trustees have hired Kersten Harnly to replace Andy Dutko as our Chancel Choir Director. The announcement was made to the congregation on Sunday, February 14th. Prior to the appointment, Kersten had been playing the piano for worship and working with the choir. Kersten comes to us from the Lancaster area and is a Mathematics Education major at Mansfield University. Kersten's music background goes back to Middle School where she was a pianist and section leader. Her music skills include piano, organ, voice, violin, guitar and composition. While at MU, Kersten has been a participant in or part of the following: Festival Chorus (three semesters), Concert Choir Pianist, Navigators (Worship coordinator and leader) and has been substitute pianist and substitute worship leader for First Baptist Church Wellsboro. Please welcome Kersten to the First Baptist family and as the choir has mentioned "hang on for great things to come."

A little less than a year ago, we hired Ashley McCormick as our church
organist. Ashley comes to us from Cochranville, PA which is in Chester County. Ashley is a Junior at Mansfield University studying Music Education: Choral track. Her principle instrument is the piano with secondary instruments being voice and organ. Ashley has been playing for churches in PA since 2005 and singing in church choirs since before she can remember. When she is at home, Ashley attends Cochranville United Methodist Church. Outside of music, she enjoys reading, cooking and working with children.
